The Scarlet Worm

Purpose

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy, unto which ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts; Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:19-21

The purpose of this study is not to satisfy our curiosity but to learn what the Holy Spirit has to tell us about the future so we are better equipped to serve Him in the present. Our motto should be, “To learn about the future so we can serve Him better in the present.” What we should seek as we study prophecy is; Information about the nature and will of God; Inspiration to serve Him with a greater devotion; Realization of the inerrancy and infallibility of His Word; Determination to reach a lost, hell bound dying world. Now we must remember, God has not revealed all the details of His will to us. In other words, He hasn’t chosen to tell us everything yet. Deut. 29:29 says, “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” So, we need to approach the study of prophecy, in the spirit of humility on our knees. A Biblical study of Biblical prophecy should lead us to live Biblical lives, sanctified and consecrated to our Biblical Creator. There is only one destination, one purpose, one point for this study, Holiness! If that is not your purpose then hit the delete button now and find another blog to read. However, if it is your purpose then join us for a life changing journey with these, “holy men of God who spoke as they were moved (borne along. impelled) by the Holy Ghost.” II Pet. 1:21.
